Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of talking therapy that helps people identify and change negative patterns of thinking and behaviors that are contributing to their daily struggles. CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all interconnected and that changing one of these elements can lead to changes in the others.

In CBT, we would work together to identify negative patterns of thinking and behaviors and develop strategies to change them. This may involve learning new coping skills, challenging negative thoughts, and practicing new behaviors.

Compassion Focussed Therapy

Person Centred Therapy

Person centered therapy, also known as client-centered therapy, is a form of talk therapy that focuses on the client's subjective experience and their unique perspective of the world. Providing a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore and share your thoughts and feelings to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself.

A supportive, empathetic, and non-directive approach is used, you are in control of the direction of our sessions. Person-centred therapy can help you clarify your own values and goals, and to develop your own solutions to the problems they are facing. You will be encouraged to take an active role in the therapy process, rather than relying on the therapist to provide answers or solutions.

Compassion focused therapy (CFT) is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on developing compassion for oneself and others. CFT is based on the idea that many mental health problems, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma, are caused by negative self-judgment and self-criticism.

CFT helps people to develop a compassionate and understanding attitude towards themselves, even in the face of difficult emotions or experiences. It also helps people to develop a compassionate attitude towards others, which can improve their relationships and overall wellbeing.

Techniques used to help you develop improved self-compassion may include guided meditations, imagery exercises, and role-playing. The hopes of CFT is to help people become more aware of their emotions and thoughts, and to develop the skills needed to respond to them in a kind and compassionate way.
